Job costing

Job costing is a key component of Ark. When a job is set up (or at any other time) tasks can be added to the job and allocated to a staff member. Tasks can be subdivided into groups. In the illustration below the groups are General, Design and Drawings but they could just as easily be the RIBA work stage codes. The deadline for each task is also added. This provides an extremely quick and straight forward method of job costing.

Planning
At any time during the job, tasks can be added, allocated to staff and automatically costed.

Control
As time is booked to the tasks for each job you see an immediate picture of the workstate and costs (projected & actual).

As tasks are worked on and time sheets completed so the progress of each job can be seen graphically.

Tasks that have not been completed are shown in individual user's tasks in their diaries.

As hours are placed against tasks so the job can be analysed and action taken before the job goes over budget or behind schedule.
